“But still, like air, I rise.”

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
’Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Be You. Be Seen. Belong

Dear Woman

There is nothing more elegant than seeing you walk gracefully in all your beauty – from your eyes that possess love to the curve lines of your smile, you are gloriously beautiful and a gem to behold.

Let no individual tell you that you are anything less than the queen that you are. Instead, rise up and own the crown that rests on your head. Hold yourself up high and know that nothing on this earth can take away the strength, grace, bravery, and regality that resides within you.

As you continue to live life, remember to be you, to be seen and to belong.

With love,

Khalipha
